FAQ

What style of photography do you do?

Our style is colourful, dramatic and romantic with a bit of dreaminess and humour thrown into the mix as well.  We will work with you to get amazing portraits (even if you hate having your picture taken, we know...) and will fill the rest of your collection with beautiful candid images that tell your wedding story. A touch of sentiment, a hint of romance and plenty of genuine connections make up our recipe for beautiful coverage!

How far do you travel and how much will it cost?

We're more than happy to go wherever you need us to to capture your special day.  The good news is, we don't charge travel expenses for destinations within two hours (drive) of Croydon.  For weddings further afield, or even destination weddings, contact us with your location & we can build a custom quote for you and your vision of the day.  Rest assured our requirements are fairly basic and we are happy to work with you to find the most cost effective solution.

What if it rains?

Da da da dum....  I know, every couple that have planned their wedding outdoors worries about rain!   It is helpful to have another location planned as a back up if you can, but if you can't, it's not the end of the world.  Certain techniques are actually much easier and more dramatic in the rain.  For the ceremony things get a bit trickier, but if you're up for it, we're up for it!  Besides, it is traditionally a good omen to have a rainy wedding day. Promise.

Will you hold a date for us?

Unfortunately, no.  Until the contract is signed and the retainer provided, we cannot guarantee that your date will not be booked by another couple.

How long will it take to get our images after the wedding?

Generally speaking it will take around four weeks to edit your images and return them to you, we do post a couple of "sneak peek" shots on our social media within 48 hours, so follow our Facebook & Instagram to see a preview.  Any printed goods, such as albums will require additional time.

Who owns the copyright to the images you take of us?

Essentially it is shared between you and us.  You have the right to use the images for your own personal use (printing, social media etc.) while we retain commercial rights.  Basically if you are going to use them for monetary gain, competitions, somewhere they will be reproduced publicly, etc., check with us first and we can let you know what's what.

How many images will we recieve?

There is no definitive answer to this one.  Typically we will capture 100-150 images per hour (often more), but it depends on the event and the schedule of your day.

Do you Photoshop our images?

Yes and no.  We do basic corrective work (colour, contrast, noise reduction, lens distortion) on every image, we will also choose a handful of images and remove things like ugly background elements and random bugs that stop for a rest on your shoulder, polishing them up & making them perfect!.  We will also do simple skin retouching if required, but won't alter body shapes unless specifically instructed by you.

Can our guests take their own photos?

Of course they can,  We do however ask that they be mindful of wedding etiquette and keep out of the aisle so that we can do our job without obstruction.  During our group shots we prefer that guests leave the photography to us to ensure we can focus on you and not spend our time running crowd control.  We know you'll be itching to get back to the reception to celebrate with friends and family, and having others around wanting their own shots of family and bridal party groupings can drag things out significantly.  We do insist during your private portrait session that no guests are present, as we find this can be distracting and often ruins the "magic" that we are trying to capture.  Romantic feeelings are hard to focus on when you have a crowd of 40 people watching you....

The ceremony in particular is a period of the day where guests will have their cameras and phones out and will be crowding, stretching and leaning around each other and in to the aisle to get their own good shot.  We can work around this to an extent, but for peace of mind we recommend that you ask your celebrant to request guests to limit their use of cameras and phones.  They are, after all, there to experience the love and joy of your big day with their eyes and minds rather than tiny screens on electronic devices.

Do we need to provide a meal for you?

Why, thank you for asking! Wedding days are long for you and us, and no-one likes a hangry vendor...  So if your coverage is over 7 hours long, sustenance would be much appreciated. It doesn't have to be the fancy fare your guests are served, just a basic meal will be fine, we would also ask that one meal be provided gluten, dairy and fructose free (I know, I know... I'm sorry) if your caterer looks panicked at this idea, just let them know a simple salad will be fine!

What on earth is an "After Session Shoot"?

Often referred to as a "trash the dress" session, we try to do it with as little impact as possible to your beautiful gown (or snappy suit).  This session gives you the opportunity to have some more creative images without the worry of getting lipstick on your dress or the stress of a wedding day schedule. If there is a location that is important to you both (engagement location, home) that you couldn't make it to on the wedding day, it's a great opportunity to have photos there, plus it is an awesome excuse to wear your amazing wedding gown again!

These can also be gifted as an anniversary shoot "One Year On", so many amazing things happen in that first year of marriage, it is a beautiful way to document your achievement.

Are you insured?

Yes, we're fully insured.  If you, your venue or another vendor would like a copy of our insurance certificate, please let us know and we will provide them to you.

Do you offer video?

We don't currently offer videography, however we do have some videographers we can recommend for a great experience. Please contact us if you are looking to appoint a videographer for your wedding day.

What gear do you use?

We are proud Nikon devotees, and have an array of full frame cameras and various lenses and lighting equipment.  If you really want all the photo-geek info, just ask us in an email or at our meeting!

How do we go about booking you?

This is the easy bit! Just head on over to our contact page and give us a call or send us an email.  We look forward to hearing from you!
